BEN
Originally from Belmont, Massachusetts, Ben Wulfman is the 4th horn player in the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra. He received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Music degree in French horn performance from Northwestern University.
A Bay Area resident, Ben performs frequently with the San Francisco Symphony and the San Francisco Opera. In his years of performing, he has also played in the sections of The New York Philharmonic, The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, The Detroit Symphony Orchestra, The Orchestra of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and many others.
Ben has toured nationally and internationally with orchestras including the New York Philharmonic and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
Ben can be heard on official recordings by the San Francisco Ballet, The Detroit Symphony Orchestra, The Lyric Opera Orchestra, The Slee Sinfonietta with Irvine Arditti, and North/South Consonance.
While living in Michigan, Ben served as Lecturer of Horn at both the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University. Ben enjoys working with horn players of all ages and walks of life in his private horn studio. His students have gone on to study at top-level music programs around the world.
Ben has been a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival.
